Per the Mount Rushmore Park FAQ, Pets are permitted only within two pet walking areas at Mount Rushmore. Please refer to the National Park Service Web site for additional details. You have the choice to go to the right side (sculptors house) or a trail to the left. Stay to the left it is easier. The trail to the left starts back at left side of amphitheater after all the state flags.
