The 71 Freeway has been hampered by closures in Pomona for the past few months. The closure at Rio Rancho Road will continue on Monday, Aug. 19, according to Caltrans.

Caltrans owns the 71 Freeway, but only has jurisdiction over part of it. The rest is controlled by the U.S. division of a Madrid-based construction company, Obrascón Huarte Lain, S.A. or OHLA.

Portions of the 71 Freeway in the Pomona area will close this week for pavement work, according to Caltrans. The freeway underwent multiple closures earlier this year for repairs of potholes.
