Atlanta Dream star Brittney Griner denied making a derogatory remark about Caitlin Clark in her team's 81-76 loss to the Indiana Fever on May 22.

The reporter offered Griner the option of watching the video to help refresh her memory, but Griner disagreed that it would help her decipher what she truly said. Griner had a tough game against the Fever, scoring five points and grabbing seven rebounds in the loss.

The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”
