UnitedHealth has revealed that 190 million Americans had their personal and healthcare data stolen in the Change Healthcare ransomware attack, nearly doubling the previously disclosed figure.

The FBI has raised alarm that hackers who breached AT&T’s system last year may have stolen months of agents’ call and text logs, which could potentially lead to the identities of anonymous informants connected to investigations, according to a document reviewed by Bloomberg.

Leading US health insurance provider UnitedHealth Group has confirmed that some 190 million Americans were impacted by the ransomware attack on its subsidiary, Change Healthcare. This is nearly double the initial estimate. The confirmation was made by the company to TechCrunch.

Bleeping Computer on Wednesday also reported that an extortion note the attacker sent to PowerSchool claimed that the personal data of 62.4 million students and 9.5 million teachers was swept up in the breach. PowerSchool said it’s offering two years of free credit monitoring to all those affected.
