A month after an ICE raid at a Los Angeles area swap meet, business has declined but is slowly picking back up.

The number of people ICE arrested in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania surged around the time the agency reportedly implemented a 3,000 arrests-a-day quota in late May, according to recently-released government data.

Acting ICE director Todd Lyons addressed the surge in attacks against ICE agents, after several officers described facing challenges and more criticism.

Fear from ongoing ICE operations has led immigrant workers and families in Southern California to face worsening extreme heat conditions at their workplaces and homes.

At the commission meeting, one life-long Kent County resident said the local government isn't doing enough to protect immigrants.

The DHS has denied the allegations, saying Victor Velazquez Gutierrez attempted to flee and actively resisted arrest, which led to him falling to the ground.
