Juan Soto homered in consecutive at-bats, Kodai Senga overcame early control problems to pitch six scoreless innings and the New York Mets beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-1.

Catcher Luis Torrens threw out Corbin Carroll trying to steal second in the first inning. On Alek Thomas’ double in the second, a well-executed relay sequence from Tyrone Taylor to Francisco Lindor to Torrens nailed Eugenio Suarez at the plate.

Lindor smashed a two-run double in the ninth to give the Mets a cushion. José Azocar and Taylor each walked in the inning, before Lindor delivered his second double of the afternoon. Soto’s sacrifice fly gave the Mets a 7-1 lead.
