The Baltimore Orioles are signing free agent pitcher Ryan Helsley to a two-year, $28 million contract, according to multiple reports Saturday. Jeff Passan of ESPN was first to report the deal, which is yet to become official pending a physical.
The Mets also felt like a big reason for Helsley's struggles was that he was too predictable in terms of what pitches he threw in certain counts. They believe these two factors contributed to his problems producing for New York.
