Monday, Sep 23 update from the National Hurricane Center: Latest on the Potential Tropical Cyclone
As per the National Hurricane Center’s 2 pm Monday update, the potential tropical cyclone is 110 miles south-southwest of Grand Cayman and 340 miles southeast of the Western Tip of Cuba, with maximum sustained wind of 30 mph. It’s moving 6 mph to the north.

"This has the potential to rapidly intensify into a powerful hurricane," said AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jon Porter. "There is the potential that this storm could further strengthen into a major hurricane, which is a Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale with maximum sustained winds of 111-129 miles per hour.
