A surprise 15 per cent tariff has been imposed on New Zealand by US President Donald Trump. New Zealand will face competition from Australia, which has a lower tariff rate of 10 per cent. The US is New Zealand’s second biggest trade partner behind China and ahead of Australia.

New Zealand exports to the US will face a 15 percent tariff rate, it has been announced. The White House has revised its list of tariffs for particular countries and New Zealand has been put on a 15 percent base rate, up from the original 10 percent announced earlier.
