A Food and Drug Administration official is getting his job back as the agency's top vaccine regulator, less than two weeks after he was pressured to step down at the urging of biotech executives, patient groups and conservative allies of President Donald Trump.

The Food and Drug Administration has rehired the vaccine chief who resigned just two weeks ago. Dr. Vinay Prasad led the FDA’s vaccines and gene therapy division until he was forced to resign in late July after a public pressure campaign led by far-right activist Laura Loomer.

Vinay Prasad is returning to his role overseeing vaccine, gene therapy and blood product regulation at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration a little more than a week after he left the agency.
