Waitrose is reintroducing free coffee for all of its loyalty scheme members who will no longer have to make a purchase to redeem the perk.

First introduced in 2013, Waitrose’s free coffee loyalty scheme has long been a fan favourite. And now, it’s going back to its roots, offering shoppers a daily, complimentary cup of Joe – even if they don’t purchase an item in store.

Waitrose is bringing back free tea and coffee for customers signed up to its loyalty card, even if they do not buy anything from the supermarket.The company has emailed customers to inform them of the change from January 27,

Waitrose has reintroduced free coffee for all loyalty scheme members even if they haven't bought anything from the supermarket. The company has told those signed up to its My Waitrose scheme that from 27 January they can get one complimentary hot drink a day with no purchase needed - provided they bring a reusable cup.

Members of the myWaitrose loyalty program, now being rebranded as My Waitrose, will be able to get a free hot drink, regardless of whether they’ve bought anything beforehand - the premium grocer currently requires members to make a purchase before receiving their drink.

To claim your freebie, you must go to a Waitrose-branded self-serve coffee machine - not the Waitrose cafés. To grab your drink just scan your physical My Waitrose card, or the barcode on your digital card, at the coffee machine and select your drink. The deal includes dairy alternatives, such as oat milk.
