Three major media companies will ask the U.S. Court of Appeals on Monday to reverse a ruling that blocked the launch of their Venu Sports streaming service, arguing that a district court judge was wrong to halt its planned debut on antitrust grounds.

(Reuters) - Walt Disney Co said on Monday it would merge its Hulu + Live TV business with smaller rival FuboTV in a deal that also potentially clears the way for the launch of its sports streaming venture with Fox Corp and Warner Bros Discovery.

Disney announced a deal with pay-TV provider Fubo to combine Hulu + Live TV with Fubo's operations in a joint venture, ending Fubo's Venu lawsuit.

Disney’s Hulu + Live TV service and Fubo will merge, creating one of the country’s largest pay TV providers, the companies announced Monday in a surprise deal that will potentially allow the Venu Sports streaming service to move forward.

Fubo in a statement on Monday said it has settled all litigation with Disney and ESPN related to Venu, and also settled all litigation with Fox and Warner Bros Discovery
