Travelers face challenging weather for the rest of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Winter storm warnings have been issued across the northern United States, with snow expected from Montana to New York.
Forecasters warn that heavy snowfall from the storm will lead to hazardous post-Thanksgiving travel—as the American Automobile Association expects over 80 million people to travel at least 50 miles from home over the November 25 to December 1 period.
Some higher elevations in New Jersey could see up to 5 inches of snow Tuesday, while the southern half of the state gets all rain.

Snowfall forecast by city as winter storm sweeps across Michigan
The snowfall totals are expected to be the highest in West Michigan. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has done a great job putting together a city-by-city table showing how much snow is forecast, and when those inches will accumulate.
The first snowstorm of the season caused pain and fun. While winter weather advisories were removed, snow emergencies were declared in a couple of municipalities south of the Twin Cities. Light snow continued to fall across much of Minnesota and was expected to last throughout Saturday.
Precipitation may begin as a mix of wet snow and rain across inland areas Sunday morning before transitioning to all rain by afternoon as temperatures rise. The Jersey Shore should see high temperatures in the low to mid 50s, while inland locations remain in the 40s.
A winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 1:25 p.m. valid for Sunday between 3 a.m. and noon for Westmoreland Ridges and Fayette Ridges.
