Erie High was scheduled to play McDowell for the D-10 6A title on Oct. 31 at Edinboro University, but the Royals sent a message to D-10 that they opted out of the playoffs, according to Erie High athletic director Dale Mills. It will go down as a forfeit win for McDowell.
