The Astros have formally announced the trade. Pressly has been considered a trade candidate for much of the offseason, and probably even as far back as August, when he hit the minimum number of appearances to trigger the vesting option in his contract.

The Chicago Cubs are finalizing a deal to acquire Houston Astros’ former All-Star closer Ryan Pressly, according to reports. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the trade is pending medical review and Pressly will waive his no-trade clause to facilitate the trade to Chicago.
