The former Cabinet secretary has been photographed in China in recent weeks while her husband has been hospitalized.

Senator Mitch McConnell ’s wife Elaine Chao did not immediately return to the U.S. last month after the Kentucky lawmaker was hospitalized, a new report says.

According to a news release from China’s U.S. Embassy, Chao also met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on June 17 to discuss “further efforts to strengthen China-U.S. relations.”
