A bridge that spans the Mississippi River connecting Lansing, Iowa, to Wisconsin has temporarily reopened after a closure in mid-May disrupted travel and sent residents on long detours.

LANSING, Iowa (KCRG) - The Black Hawk Bridge will remain closed over Memorial Day weekend. On Thursday, the Iowa DOT confirmed the bridge will not open due to safety concerns.

The Iowa Department of Transportation says that the bridge connecting Lansing, Iowa, and Crawford County, Wisconsin, will remain closed through the Memorial Day weekend.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at The Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing, Iowa. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Gethsemane Cemetery of Lansing.
