President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will travel to Texas on Friday to meet with first responders and grieving families in the aftermath of last week's catastrophic flooding that has left more than 100 people dead.
During Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, Mr Trump did not mention those plans and instead praised the federal flooding response. Turning to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, whose department oversees Fema, he said, “You had people there as fast as anybody’s ever seen.”
Trump's visit comes a week after heavy rainfall caused the Guadalupe River in Kerr County to rise 26 feet in less than an hour, killing at least 121, including dozens of children at the nearby Christian summer camp, Camp Mystic. He and first lady Melania Trump will visit flood-affected areas, according to a statement from the first lady's office.
Though Melania Trump is famously private, her fashion choices have sparked countless headlines and theories.
