It's unclear what the Ravens deal is and/or if the Rams tried to retain Hummel, but there is a connection to Baltimore. Hummel played with Ravens tight end Charlie Kolar in college at Iowa State and the two reportedly remained friends.

The Ravens have upgraded their special teams units, signing veteran linebacker and special teams standout Jake Hummel. According to multiple outlets, it's a one-year deal.
