A surge in callouts among air traffic controllers "is straining staffing levels" at multiple airports across the U.S. -- including in the New York City area where 80% of controllers are absent, the Federal Aviation Administration said Friday evening.

GLENMONT - A crash on Interstate 87 slowed northbound traffic near Exit 23 on Saturday. The crash was reported around 4:54 p.m., according to 511NY, the state Department of Transportation's traffic alert system. The left lane was reported as partially blocked and by 6:30 p.m., traffic was still moving slowly through the area.
