Kings Dominion has received the go-ahead from Hanover County to begin construction on a new roller coaster that could be the theme park’s biggest project in more than a decade.

The new coaster will mark the 14th roller coaster operating on Kings Dominion’s 400-acre property. Rapterra is expected to open in 2025 with construction expected to wrap up this fall.
