Google has launched Ask Maps, a Gemini-powered conversational feature, alongside 3D Immersive Navigation in its biggest Maps update in over a decade.

Google today added Gemini AI to Google Maps, enabling a new Ask Maps feature. Gemini in maps can answer complex, real-world questions that Google says "a map could never answer before".

iPhone users face this choice every time they need directions: Stick with the pre-installed Apple Maps, or switch to Google Maps. A decade ago, the answer felt obvious, but today, it's not as clear.
