Microsoft has finally patched a Windows Server bug impacting various Server editions for the past three years.

The Web tool eases development chores for Windows-based sites, and despite some minor issues, does a good job making popular open-source Web projects more broadly accessible.

Microsoft has officially announced that Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is now deprecated, but plans to maintain current functionality and continue publishing updates through the channel.

Microsoft’s Internet Information Services is one of the oldest web server platforms around. Originally launched in 1995, it’s been regularly updated alongside Windows Server.
