Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has agreed to a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Bills, with $30 million guaranteed, ESPN reports.This comes after Cook returned to practice Tuesday at One Bills Drive after missing four sessions last week and missing the team’s first preseason game.

“Bills GM Brandon Beane said he was at first worried about the James Cook hold-in becoming a distraction, but believes the core of the team knew what this was about, and everyone was level-headed,” The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia posted on X, formerly Twitter.

After a months-long contract dispute, the Buffalo Bills and James Cook reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension worth $48 million with $30 million in guaranteed money. In terms of total value, Cook is the highest-paid running back in the league.
