OMAHA, Neb. — The Oregon State Beavers play the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Sunday in the winners’ bracket of the Men’s College World Series at Charles Schwab Field.The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT in a game that will air live on ESPN2.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After taking care of Arizona in their previous College World Series matchup, the Louisville baseball program now gets another crack at No. 8 Oregon State, facing them in the CWS' 1-1 elimination game.

Oregon lawmakers designated the T-bone steak as Oregon’s official state steak on June 16. The T-bone steak is the latest state symbol adopted by lawmakers, following the designation of potatoes as the official state vegetable in 2023 and Jory soil as the official state soil in 2011.

Oregon is in the market for a new pitching coach. Blake Hawksworth, who coached at UO the past two seasons, has taken the same position at Oklahoma State. Hawksworth, whose two-year contract was due to expire at the end of this month, earned $195,000 in salary plus $20,000 in bonuses this season.

The Oregon State baseball teams saw its late lead disappear but rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat Louisville in the CWS opener.
