“Boogie Nights” actor Philip Baker Hall has died. He was 90. The character actor — who is credited in more than 180 on-screen roles — passed away on Sunday.

GLENDALE, Calif. — When Philip Baker Hall was young, he looked old. He sounded ancient, Methuselah with a swell thatch of hair. He appears to have been born with bags under his doleful eyes.

Philip Baker Hall, the prolific character actor who memorably hunted down a long-overdue library book in “Seinfeld,” died on Sunday. He was 90.

Philip Baker Hall was born on Sept. 10, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio. He attended the University of Toledo and enlisted in the military, serving as an Army translator in Germany.
