Paul Antony Butler, 53, is wanted in connection to with the death of the woman in West Hoe Road in Plymouth last night. Detectives warned the public not to approach “armed and dangerous” Butler but call them if he is spotted. He appears to refer to himself on social media as the Stangray Strangler - in reference to a street name close to the scene.

A man wanted on suspicion of murder in Plymouth has been found and arrested by police. Earlier today (January 23), Devon and Cornwall Police launched an appeal to try and locate Paul Anthony Butler, 53, from Plymouth, who was wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Plymouth in the early hours of this morning.

Paul Antony Butler, 53, was located and arrested in the Liskeard area of Cornwall, which is around 20 miles from Plymouth.

A manhunt is under way for a male murder suspect after a woman in her 40s died having been found seriously injured in the street. The woman died in hospital during the early hours of Thursday having been attacked the night before in Plymouth.
