Sony is raising prices on all three of its PlayStation 5 consoles by about $50 in the U.S. due to what the company calls "challenging economic times." And earlier this month, Nintendo announced it would also raise prices due to market conditions.

In a rare bit of good news, education professionals in the United States who also happen to be video game enthusiasts - and there are probably a lot of them - can take advantage of a rare perk in the form of a temporary 20 percent discount on the expensive PlayStation 5 Pro and the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle. Huzzah.
