The Boston Red Sox made a shocking move when they traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants, but the return has not looked great so far.
Nathaniel Lowe’s RBI double against reliever Luke Weaver broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh and proved to be the game-winner. It came in Lowe’s third game with the Red Sox, whom he joined after being released by the Nationals last weekend.
Right-hander Jordan Hicks continues to struggle, as he allowed two runs in the ninth inning on Monday. The 28-year-old now has a 6.61 ERA in 28 appearances this season and a 7.07 ERA in 15 outings since the Red Sox acquired him in the Rafael Devers trade. The Boston Red Sox lost first baseman Triston Casas to a devastating knee injury in May. The 25-year-old had struggled early in the season, but carried high expectations to return to his prior form in which he put up a 129 and 124 OPS+ in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
When will Kyle Harrison finally make his Boston Red Sox debut? Harrison was optioned to Triple-A Worcester in June when the Red Sox acquired him from the San Fr
