The final week of the AHSAA softball season is getting started on Monday in Oxford. Class 2A and 5A will begin games to begin the AHSAA state softball tournament at Choccolocco Park, with action set to get started at 9:30 a.m. The original 9 a.m. beginning has been moved due to inclement weather concerns.
In the second round of the Class 2 District 6 Softball Tournament, the Diamond Wildcats took on the Lamar Lady Tigers at a neutral field on the campus of Mt. Vernon High School. Wildcats pitcher Taelyn Reeder got things going in the field for Diamond with all three of the team’s outs
