A teenanger was taken into custody in Newton while the police continue to investigate threats in the Southeast Polk Community School District.

"A single poor decision can result in lifelong consequences," said Superintendent Frederick Heid in a statement.

A recent social media threat targeting Hornsby Middle School in Williamsburg is among the latest received at schools across Hampton Roads. The James City County Police Department said the threat Thursday afternoon was determined to not be credible.
