Netflix has reportedly revealed key details about Squid Game Season 3, including its release date. The final season of the global phenomenon is set to premiere in 2025. It will continue the intense journey of protagonist Seong Gi-hun.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Hwang allowed that Squid Game ‘s final third will focus on the two characters you’d most expect: Gi-hun, of course, as well as Lee Byung-hun’s Front Man. The latter slithered his way into the game as Player 001 and at times almost seemed to be sympathetic to Gi-hun’s desire to tear down the competition once and for all.

Squid Game season 2, which was released on Dec. 26, ended with a major cliffhanger. In the seventh and final episode, Gi-hun ( Lee Jung-jae) leads an uprising of the players, which results in the brutal murder of his best friend, Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), at the hands of the Squid Game supervisor: Front Man (Lee Byung-hun).
