Sean Kuraly knows how fortunate he is and the Columbus Blue Jackets forward was not shy about sharing why when he joined this week's episode of the "NHL @TheRink" podcast presented by SKIP. Kuraly experienced playing an NHL outdoor game at Notre Dame Stadium in the 2019 NHL Winter Classic when he was with the Boston Bruins.
Although Sean Kuraly was born in Niagara Falls, New York, he grew up in the Columbus, Ohio, suburb of Dublin and like many kids in the area, had the opportunity to attend Ohio State football games in cavernous Ohio Stadium.

Kuraly scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings. The Blue Jackets' fourth line of Kuraly, James van Riemsdyk and Joseph LaBate combined for three goals and four points in the contest.
The helper ended a 12-game point drought for Kuraly, who added 14 shots on net, 20 hits and 10 blocked shots in that span. The Blue Jackets aren't at full health, but they have enough players available to keep Kuraly on the fourth line.
New forwards Luke Kunin, Christian Fischer give Blue Jackets needed depth to make their final push in a tight race for a playoff spot.
With less than two hours to go before the deadline, Waddell got into the action, landing third-line center Luke Kunin in a trade with the San Jose Sharks. For Kunin, a 27-year old center, the Blue Jackets traded one of their two fourth-round draft picks this summer.
Christian Fischer gives Blue Jackets' fourth line added experience, size, strength and just enough scoring potential.
The pick was in a trade last summer that sent forward Alexandre Texier to the Blues prior to the league's draft in Las Vegas. "Luke can play any forward position," said Don Waddell, the Blue Jackets' president of hockey operations/general manager.
