CHARLOTTE — Police are searching for a suspect in an interstate shooting that happened in north Charlotte on Friday. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said shots were fired on I-85 at the I-77 interchange near Beatties Ford Road Friday morning.

The driver of the Honda, Aaron Sipf, 32, was arrested and transported into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is being charged with two counts of felony hit-and-run and one count of resisting an officer, according to the sheriff’s office.

"We are devastated by the accident involving a team member at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family," AA said.

The ramp from Interstate 85 south to Interstate 77 south remains closed after a tractor-trailer hauling cattle overturned early Tuesday morning, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
