The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Connor Bedard first overall in 2023 with the hopes of him becoming the generational star that he was touted to be while playing major junior with the Regina Pats.

When Blackhawks fans daydreamed in the spring of 2023 about soon-to-be-drafted Connor Bedard’s future NHL goals, they probably imagined something like his snipe Sunday against the Flyers.

But Bedard’s first two seasons shouldn’t be looked at as anything close to a disappointment. Yes, he went without a point in the Blackhawks’ 3-0 loss to MacKinnon’s Avalanche on Monday.
