Lake Norman High School’s boys basketball team has forfeited their 27-1 season due to an eligibility issue with one of their players, erasing their chances of winning the state championship.

Lake Norman High School, No. 1 in the NC 4A statewide poll and No. 1 in The Observer’s Sweet 16, self-reported the use of an ineligible player.
