Clash over Florida’s Black history museum location returns
FLAG FIGHT — “Florida Senate Republicans introduced legislation Monday that would ban government buildings, including schools, from flying flags that show support for any political message or figure, such as LBGTQ pride, Black Lives Matter and even Trump,” reports POLITICO’s Andrew Atterbury.
State Senate bill would form board to oversee Florida Black History Museum in St. Augustine
Florida Senate Bill 466, filed by Sen. Tom Leek, would establish a board of directors to oversee the creation of the Florida Museum of Black History. The museum is planned to be built on the former site of Florida Memorial University in West Augustine, a location chosen for its historical significance.
