The kids fished for Northern Pike, walleye, crappy and panfish on the lake where the old Lac Vieux Desert village used to be.

Pandemic or not, fish are going to spawn when nature’s calendar tells them to spawn; pike first, followed by walleyes.

Anglers on Mille Lacs Lake will have the opportunity to harvest two walleye daily during the upcoming open water season, which begins May 10 and continues through Nov. 30.
