Western Michigan scored twice in the span of a little over 4 minutes while on a 5-minute power play, then stood tall for a huge 5-minute penalty kill to beat UMass, 2-1, to win the Fargo, N.D., regional on Saturday night at Scheels Arena. The Broncos advance to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history.

Western Michigan scored its only two goals during a 5-minute power play that crossed from the second into the period. They proved too much for the UMass hockey team to overcome. The Minutemen fell to the Broncos, 2-1, in the NCAA Regional in Fargo, North Dakota.
