Air Canada suspended plans to resume flights Sunday after striking flight attendants refused a government order to return to work.

The free event, now in its 66th year, runs Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days along the lakefront from Fullerton Avenue to Oak Street.

Sunday features hot temperatures with very high humidity, with dew points once again at or a little above 70 degrees for many of us. An uneventful cold front passing through the area Sunday night will bring an end to this one-day heat fest, and now it’s on to cooler temperatures to start the work week.

Residents at several buildings near Chicago’s lakefront got an unwelcome burst of fresh air on Friday after windows at or near ground level shattered as military fighter jets practicing for the Chicago Air and Water show buzzed by.

Lake Forest native Capt. Tim Wilson's parents had never seen him fly his C17 Globemaster transport until the Chicago Air and Water Show this year. On Sunday, he'll do a flyover at the Cubs-Pirates game with mom and dad in the stands.
