St. Louis police officer dies after being hit by car on Interstate 70
ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis police officer hit by a car Sunday morning on Interstate 70 died in surgery Sunday afternoon. The officer was David Lee, an 18-year veteran of the force. Police said they have a suspect in custody. “Today is a day of heartbreak in the city of St. Louis,” Mayor Tishaura O. Jones said at a news conference Sunday evening.
