Tropical Storm Henriette has rapidly strengthened into a hurricane in the central Pacific Ocean with further strengthening expected but poses no threat to land

Hawaii is seeing some minimal impacts from Hurricane Henriette as it moves northwest away from the islands. Still, winds are 80mph with the storm but there are no watches or warnings for Hawaii, as Henriette is expected to move away and out into open waters the next several days.

Tropical Storm Erin formed Monday in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean, just west of the Cabo Verde Islands, as Hurricane Henriette strengthened in the Pacific Ocean well away from Hawaii, forecasters said.
