Three suspected militants killed in a gunbattle in the disputed region of Kashmir were responsible for a shooting massacre in which more than two dozen people died and that led to a military clash between India and Pakistan earlier this year,

India's defence minister said on Monday that New Delhi had ended its military conflict with Pakistan in May as it had met all its objectives and had not responded to pressure, rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump's claim that he brokered the truce.

Operation Sindoor showcased India's defense self-reliance by testing and successfully deploying systems like Akash and BrahMos missiles. Launched on May 7, it retaliated against the Pahalgam attack, decimating terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
