Tesla kicks off production of the Juniper Model Y at Gigafactory Berlin, with a European launch expected soon, featuring major updates to the popular EV.

According to German media outlet Handelsblatt ,​​​​​​ production of the Model Y Juniper is set to begin today at its Grünheide plant, a facility that, up until now, has only built Model Ys. According to sources close to the matter, the plant's employees were informed about this new production roadmap on Monday.

Model Y inventory is drying up after Tesla went on a year-end pricing tear. The EV world, meanwhile, is eying the Juniper refresh.

With refreshed styling, new interior features, and tech upgrades, Tesla's top-selling electric SUV aims to stay ahead of the competition.
