Mean Girls and Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried has revealed that she was offered the role of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, but turned it down for a few reasons – including because she didn't think the movie would be a success.

The actress recently opened up about turning down the part of Gamora in the original “Guardians of the Galaxy,” a role that later went to Oscar winner Zoé Saldaña. Seyfried admitted that she viewed the movie as a risk to her career at the time — but she was wrong.

Amanda Seyfried doesn't entirely regret not starring in "Guardians of the Galaxy" but does now know she was "wrong" to assume the film would flop. The "Long Bright River" actress said during the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast in the below video that she was in talks to play Gamora in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" feature.
