While Jen Pawol made Major League Baseball history by serving as the first-base umpire, Atlanta starter Hurston Waldrep allowed one run in six innings as the host Braves defeated the Miami Marlins 7-1 Saturday afternoon in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader.

Days after it was announced that Jen Pawol would become the first female umpire to work an MLB game, she officially took the field on Saturday.

With Miami winning 7-3, they made franchise history with their sweep over the Yankees, per MLB insider Bob Nightengale. They also became the first MLB club to go from 16 or more games under .500 to a .500 record since 2014 Rays, per team reporter Christina De Nicola.
