JR Motorsports will not appeal the penalty to Sammy Smith after the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville. Smith was docked 50 points for taking out Taylor Gray at the end of the race.

He finished in 10th place. Taylor Gray was 29th, so a points penalty just to even things out could potentially be viewed as appropriate. "I’m not proud of what I did," Smith said.

Smith, the JR Motorsports driver, slammed into race-leader Taylor Gray on the final corner, taking them both out of contention and allowing Austin Hill to drive by to take the checkered flag.
