Football.London on MSNInside Xavi Simons transfer talks as Chelsea reality clear with £43.7m boostThe very latest on the future of Xavi Simons with Chelsea continuing talks with German club RB Leipzig over a move for the 22-year-old Netherlands international
Chelsea look close to sealing the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, the Dutch winger coming in to replace the recently departed Noni Madueke and the soon to depart Joao Felix as an attacking option.
Chelsea appear to be edging closer to securing the services of Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons, with advanced discussions underway between the Blues and German outfit RB Leipzig, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Joao Felix joined Chelsea permanently last summer for around £45m and the Blues could now recoup that figure as he edges closer to joining Al Nassr; Felix spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan,
Leipzig have reportedly made it clear they want a fee close to €70 million (£60m), and Chelsea are said to have opened formal talks.
RB Leipzig are thought to be demanding a final fee of at least €70 million (£60.8 million, $82.1 million)—which would take Chelsea’s total outlay this summer to north of €300 million (£260.4 million, $351.9 million), comparable to the record-breaking figures bandied around by Liverpool.
