When Blackhawks fans daydreamed in the spring of 2023 about soon-to-be-drafted Connor Bedard’s future NHL goals, they probably imagined something like his snipe Sunday against the Flyers.

Bedard had 67 points in 82 games this season, a slightly slower pace than his 61 points in 68 games last season. His individual scoring-chance production dropped, too, from 10.1 to 7.2 per 60 minutes.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Connor Bedard first overall in 2023 with the hopes of him becoming the generational star that he was touted to be while playing major junior with the Regina Pats.
