Museum officials hope their collections will draw more visitors due to spillover of the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the Crazy Horse memorial in the Southern Hills each year.

CRAZY HORSE, S.D. (AP) -- Sixty years after the first blast signaled work had begun on the world's largest mountain carving, the project is far from finished.

The memorial was commissioned by Henry Standing Bear, a Lakota elder, to be sculpted by Korczak Ziolkowski. It is operated by the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation, a private non-profit organization.
